ABOUT ROBIN VICKERS

I am a Partner at Newton leading on healthcare and system integration. I’m passionate about improving outcomes for the public, helping our health and care services to become more efficient and improving working lives for the people who provide care. As an Engineer and Management Consultant by background, I’ve had the privilege of almost 20 years working in healthcare, delivering transformational projects, interventions and technologies that improve front-line care. I enjoy creating simple and sustainable solutions to some of the toughest challenges in the sector and have been fortunate to lead and support several award-winning programmes. Having explored some of the most interesting health and care systems on the planet, I’m passionate about healthcare providers learning from the best and enjoy sharing that knowledge and experience. At Newton, I’m part of our public sector leadership team and am proud to lead a team focussed on improving outcomes and transforming health and care provision for people in local communities. Newton is the best place I have ever worked. The culture and people of Newton are singularly focussed on delivering great outcomes for clients, we enjoy our work and enjoy spending time with clients and each other. It is a fun place to work and a business that has soul. For clients, we don’t produce strategies and plans – we deliver the outcomes required at the front-line. Outside of Newton, I am proud to be the Chair of Trustees at my local hospice, St.Giles in Staffordshire. This helps me to stay connected to the front-line challenges in providing care and gives me a broader perspective on healthcare leadership. St Giles is an organisation rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and has a fantastic team of clinicians, professionals and volunteers providing palliative care for local residents. My role at St.Giles is a voluntary and unpaid position. My diverse experience includes more than 10 years in leadership roles within professional services businesses and 5 years at CEO within an investor backed (venture capital and private equity) environment.
