ABOUT ROBERTO ROBBIE CAMPOS

Hola! I’m Roberto and I’m a proud first-generation college graduate and current Master’s candidate in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies at Sacramento State University. My journey through higher education has been shaped by perseverance, comunidad, and a deep belief that a genuine sense of belonging can transform a student’s entire trajectory. I’ve grounded my work in understanding identity, culture, and the emotional landscapes students navigate as they move through college. At Sonoma State, I had the privilege of co-founding Nuestra CASA, a Latinx Living Community created to uplift students who, like me, longed for a space where they felt seen, supported, and celebrated. Fue un proyecto que nació del corazón, a vision built from stories, shared experiences, and the desire to create un hogar away from home. I also partnered with the CSU Middle Leadership Academy to help lay the groundwork for an early-alert system centered on compassion, connection, and timely intervention, because sometimes one conversation, one “¿cómo estás de verdad?” can make all the difference for a student. I bring strengths in student engagement, program development, DEI advocacy, project management, and collaborative problem-solving (and yes, even tracking down whoever finished the office coffee). At the core of my work is a simple belief: cada estudiante merece comunidad, people who encourage them, believe in them, and remind them that sí perteneces aquí. Whether I’m supporting first-gen students, building culturally responsive programs, or reimagining how campuses show up for those who need it most, I’m guided by connection, empathy, and the hope that higher education can feel like home for everyone.↪ Let’s connect, whether it’s talking about student success, sharing ideas that strengthen comunidad, or debating the best taco spots in town. I’m always open to conversations that bring people together and help our comunidads thrive!
