There were few campus traditions, many felt isolated and were unable to find the fun social activities that did exist if they were not already connected. S O L U T I O N • An event calendar website - to aggregate and amplify existing campus life events & traditions • An event company - to bring the community together in real life to celebrate and connect. • A Digital Media house - to promote campus life, drive growth of online community and foster a greater sense of collective identity and experience, all through photo, video and viral content. • A leadership team of 5 payed staff, and social volunteer team experience for 50 studentsO U T C O M E• Entrepreneurship & Grit: Identified market gap, passionately articulated vivid alternative vision & tirelessly bootstrapped, turning idea into reality. Learnt and built website, shot 40 event albums, hosted 3 sellout events.• Growth: Garnered buy-in of talented peers and & built a motivated team to scale organization form 3 annual events to 25 annual events and 4 new person annual campus traditions, 24k Facebook, 11k Instagram followers• Product & Culture of Design Thinking: Evangelized design process, lean methods, openness and growth mindset into heart and soul of organization to ideate, test and evolve over 15 successful event brands. • Team Experience: Created life altering volunteer team experience, internal culture and support network for 60+ students annually. Now, I leverage the same hustle and user-centric drive to define & build, loved digital experiences that propel business goals. HUSTLE Built an organization that, 9 years later, continues to impact people a year CREATIVITY My offline experiences have been featured on Good Morning America, Buzzfeed Front Page, World Star Hip Hop, McLeans Print Magazine and all primetime Canadian cable news outlets. Designed and toured live brand experiences for Monstercat at festivals across North America and launched the labels new live experience department UX DESIGN Researched, designed, funded & implemented changes that tripled daily use of square foot student building Researched, designed, funded & implemented a winter blues installation that improves 4 million dark & rainy trips across campus annually. Researched, designed, funded & implemented a new UBC Homecoming experience and marketing campaign that resulted in the largest attendance in UBC history. Red Academy client project awarded as best prototype from the cohort to proceed to development x4 Red Academy client project chosen to be one of three student projects showcased at the institution’s annual industry promotional event.
