ABOUT ROBERT SCOTT

I am am passionate about our community. I Love Whanganui and have lived her since I was 9. I believe my mission in life is to network and create synergy for the common good of our community. Previously done a stint in commercial real Estate and then leased an ex Farmers department store to set up the Marketplace. Supporting Locals into retail- Due to covid 19 and restricted trading this fabulous concept was not successful - so I\'m regrouping puting my cabinetmaking tool belt back on and am currently working part time at GDM - a great local business that manufactures retail shop fitting for most of the major chain stores (Mitre10, New World, Farmers etc) I am excited to be a part of a new housing initiative called First Rung Charitable Trust - focusing on building compact and more affordable first homes. I have served as a church leader for 20+ years and have been the leader of the Wanganui Christian leaders Assoc.(Now call OneChurch) I have also served on the local Chamber of Commerce board and the city mission (CSSW) board. Currently chair the CCS Disability Action local committee and am on the civil defence emergency committee. I helped start the Converge trust which oversees a number of inter-church local initiatives, and have been the president of BNI - a network of like-minded local business people. Previously my wife and I ran the coffee cart in our main street - which is about the best way to network I know!
