ABOUT ROBERT J. TAYLOR
I accidently discovered I loved writing when I started writing letters home to my friends and family while I was deployed to Iraq. I came home, changed my major to public affairs and transferred to the University of Idaho. I applied for a job as a sports columnist at The Argonaut and ended up getting hired to be the student newspaper\'s sports editor. I learned a lot in a very short period of time. I graduated knowing I wanted to spend my days writing instead of going to classes.My first job out of college was at my local newspaper, the Mountain Home News. I worked there for a year before I realized that the newspaper business wasn\'t going to last much longer, at least not the way that most newspapers were being ran at the time. So I went to law school and wrote a column about life as a first-year law student. I spent my last two years of law school as the paper\'s assistant adviser, working closely with student journalist. Six months later I got the opportunity to be the Idaho Army National Guard\'s historian. It was an opportunity that I couldn\'t turndown. That opportunity led to me becoming the organization\'s public affairs officer and the Idaho National Guard\'s deputy public affairs officer in 2017. I\'m still just trying to see how far my love of writing can take me.
