ABOUT RITTIKA CHANDA PARRUCK
I have worked in the Education Sector for nearly 30 years, 4 years as a Research Fellow, 7 years as a secondary school teacher and the following 13 years as Education sector professional at the British Council as the schools programme delivery lead for India and also for 3 years looking after both India and Sri Lanka. I did 3 years as Director Programmes looking after all British Council programmes being delivered in North India and finally for the last 3 years I am Director Education, India looking after the full spectrum from Schools to Higher Education though largest part of my remit is focussed on higher education. I have been the Global School strategy adviser for the British Council in the past and also currently work on the Higher Education strategy for the British Council in India. I was part of the India - UK joint taskforce on mutual recognition of qualifications and am responsible for supporting UK and Indian universities form research and teaching collaborations that are mutually beneficial to both countries. For my work in education I was given an honorary MBE by UK government. I enjoy working in both the schools space as well as the higher education space and creating innovative programme for the benefit of students in both countries.I most enjoy conceptualising and delivering new and innovative programmes for the British Council. The ones I really enjoyed doing and I believe have been most impactful are the CBSE-CBE project of the British Council which is still ongoing and the link to programme is here also initiated the Going Global partnership programme which I hope will create many partnerships offering innovative courses that will give greatest choices to young people to study what they want to and the country to get skilled professional they need. Greater interaction between students and faculty in HEIs will certainly result in higher quality research and solutions to global challenges that we face across the world regardless of political borders. I strongly believe that my work contributes to making young people realise their true potential
