ABOUT RICHARD CRAWSHAW
I’m fortunate to love what I do, combining two passions: the built environment and sustainability. Every day, I help global organisations deliver meaningful change that positively impacts the planet, people, and the places they care about. I know exactly how my work contributes, both big and small, to tackling the climate crisis.I’m a commercially astute sustainability, programme, and facilities management professional with experience across all FM service lines, both client and supply side. I’ve operated strategically within complex, diverse estates and industries, leading workplace and FM teams with a belief that a digitally enabled, knowledge-led approach can unlock real value for people, business, and society.I thrive on solving complex problems which is good as decarbonisation of the built environment is one of the biggest! Since childhood, I’ve been curious about how things work, drawn to technology, and driven by a strong sense of social justice.Today, I channel that curiosity into delivering digital-first sustainability strategies for the built environment. My career has centred on driving change in workplace and FM, and I’m proud to champion the professionalisation of the industry. I’m a certified member of IWFM, an ISEP member, and hold a postgraduate qualifications in Sustainability and master’s degree in Facilities Management.Being #dyslexicthinking has helped me embrace strengths like problem solving, strategic clarity, and cutting through complexity. Experiencing discrimination as an LGBTQ+ person has made me more aware of privilege and, I hope, a better advocate for others.I’m a bit of a geek and always up for a conversation about workplace, FM, sustainability, or diversity. If those topics interest you, feel free to connect and say hello. I’m keen to engage with values-led organisations that understand the power of integrated, strategic, and sustainable estates and facilities management
