WORK HISTORY
Editor @Emerald Publishing
The journal is published by Emerald Publishing and aims at developing the skills and knowledge of the built environment professions and will strengthen their capacity in strategic and practical aspects of disaster prevention, mitigation, response and reconstruction to mitigate the effects of disasters nationally and internationally. The journal publishes original and refereed material that contributes to the advancement of the research and practice and provides contributing authors with an opportunity to disseminate their research and experience to a broad audience. As Editor, my responsibilities relating to dissemination of research and scholarly activities include: sourcing, reviewing and providing appropriate content for the publication, which reflects leading international research and the latest thinking in the subject area; maintaining and contributing to the strategic development of the publication; developing and maintaining a network of contacts which will act as a source of papers and other content; appointing, reviewing and leading the editorial advisory board; meeting the editorial content aims and strategy and revising editorial aims, when appropriate, to reflect developments in the subject area; arranging and managing the peer review system; maintaining and developing the quality of the content; promoting the publication at relevant conferences and to interested colleagues. In addition to the roles defined above, as the founding Editor, I put forward the initial proposal for the journal and successfully identified an appropriate scope and market.
