ABOUT RICHA PATIL

I believe that learning is never ending process, and exploring new horizon is a part of life. With a foundation built on experience in both academic and industry settings, I bring a comprehensive perspective to my role as Senior Scientist specializing in Earthquake Hazard and Vulnerability within Aon\'s Impact Forecasting team. Prior to joining Aon, I served as a structural design professional in the construction industry, designing commercial and industrial buildings. This blend of practical and theoretical experience has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering and seismic risk.My expertise encompasses earthquake vulnerability assessment, probabilistic statistics, and the development of seismic vulnerability functions for diverse structural classes. I focus on applying state-of-the-art engineering techniques to deliver reliable, actionable insights for insurers, reinsurers, and stakeholders.Through my work at Aon, I am committed to supporting our clients with advanced risk analytics and providing insights that contribute to resilient infrastructure and communities in the face of earthquake hazards.Throughout my career, I have embraced opportunities in performance-based earthquake engineering, nonlinear modeling, fragility analysis, damage quantification and the development of vulnerability functions. My work also includes integrating machine learning approaches in risk modeling, as well as research into the flexural behavior of engineered cementitious composite structures. In every stage of my journey, I have been guided by the belief that, as Daniel Webster said,\"There is always room at the top.\"
