ABOUT RICA BANDIGAS

I’m a fifth-year Biological Anthropology student at the University of Calgary, with a minor in Management and Society, and an Embedded Certificate in Sustainability Studies. Passionate about personal growth, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary learning, I enjoy exploring diverse fields and actively seek opportunities to teach, learn, and lead.I’ve been honoured to co-found and serve as President of the WiCyS UCalgary Chapter, where I aim to create a welcoming environment for under-represented students from all backgrounds to explore and enter the cybersecurity field. Through this role, I am committed to empowering others and helping them build the skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry.As a former student of the Canadian French Immersion program, I hold a DELF B2 diploma and a Bilingual Competency Certificate, allowing me to communicate fluently in French, both written and verbal. I\'ve also enjoyed using this skill to teach young children the basics of the language.Studying Anthropology has deepened my appreciation for human nature and strengthened my skills in research, analysis, and memorization. These abilities, combined with my experience in fast-paced environments, enable me to think critically, multitask effectively, and collaborate with diverse teams. I’m eager to apply these skills to contribute meaningfully to future projects and roles.Currently, I am focused on continuing my studies and pursuing co-op or internship opportunities that allow me to further develop my skills and make a positive impact.
