ABOUT RENATA POMPEU-PIVIDAL
Political journalist turned tech PR, I help people and companies leverage Communications and Corporate Affairs initiatives to build, protect and enhance their reputations. With 20+ years of experience in Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising in Latin America, U.S. and global markets, I am what they call a Multicultural Integrated Communications professional. CROSS-INDUSTRY EXPERTISEWorking with politics, media and tech skilled me on public affairs best practices and relationship management across a wide diversity of publics and stakeholders, from senators to developers and CEOs (with so many more in between!) Communicating effectively is neither a science nor an art, but rather a symbiosis of both. I believe simpler is almost always better, but not always easier. SOCIAL MEDIA for PRIt’s not about coming up with catchy phrases and drumming \'buy messages\' over the heads of users, but rather about positioning thought leaders and generating discussions on the critical themes that are shaping the future of organizations and the world. AI, sustainability and geopolitics are at everyone\'s dinner tables. Brand journalism is a powerful tool to help companies join the conversation with truthfulness and authenticity, while strengthening the role corporations have (alongside people and governments) in being a part of the solution. MILLENNIALSNo single trend has a greater impact on business, government or the role of technology in the world than GenY. Millennials are the largest generation with the greatest combined purchasing power in history and, before 2025, 75% of the global workforce will be composed by them. Researching generational behaviors on social media has always been a passion, and it became the foundation of my research on millennials\' brand engagement. GLOBAL STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONSThe one-way, linear model that was once the foundation of corporate communications is no longer a practicable choice. Pursuing a Master in GSC taught me how to maintain a consistent message and strategy in different channels without brushing aside audience diversity. My commitment to research on the fine line between communicating with one voice, while still being relevant and impactful across different cultures and geographies, granted me the award Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year in 2014, when I fulfilled my postgraduate studies.
