In 2011 I moved to Oxford to join the specialist team at Pearson Primary to work on developing new products for the 2014 National Curriculum. My initial focus was researching the change in National Curriculum, which brought the new challenge of meeting the much higher standards for grammar, punctuation and spelling. In response I took on my first fully digital project and developed Grammar and Spelling Bug with expert literacy consultants Lindsay Pickton and Chris Chen. The programme is still the leading online service for teaching grammar and punctuation, I believe due its ability to make grammar and spelling fun for children and easy to teach.During this time I also worked with the reading charity, Booktrust, to secure a tender from the Department for Education to run in partnership the reading competition, Read4MySchool.I then worked as the Product Manager for the leading reading programme, Bug Club, to support all schools in moving across to a new HTML5-compatible site, ActiveLearn Primary. In the process, I developed a business case to set up a support team, and worked with a brilliant team of marketers, sales people and customer service to ensure that schools and child didn\'t miss out on a single day of using Bug Club. In the last year I\'ve moved teams to taken responsibility for our Assessment service, Progress & Assess, that underpins our key reading, maths and science programmes. This has ensured that I keep myself fully up-to-date with the significant changes posed by life without levels, and the introduction of the new SATs in 2016. I have been working more directly with schools in 2016 by presenting at workshops on assessment, writing blogs, and creating webinars on the topic. I have also taken on the product management of an adaptive learning programme, SuccessMaker.
