Contracted to assist GEICO’s privacy team in eliminating a backlog of over 700 PIAs; successfully completed 100+ assessments within 6 months for high-risk systems including AI/ML-enabled tools, geolocation services, behavioral analytics platforms, and third-party SaaS vendors while ensuring alignment with GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, and internal privacy policies. This significantly accelerated compliance and reduced organizational risk. Collaborated cross-functionally with InfoSec, Legal and product teams to implement Privacy by Design principles throughout the system development lifecycle. Led the development of scalable risk-scoring methodologies using Low-Medium-High matrix with numeric modifiers to evaluate and mitigate privacy risks in vendor assessments. Analyzed system data flows and architecture diagrams to identify data collection points, determine PII classification, and assess encryption, RBAC, and retention controls. Evaluated third party vendor platforms (e.g. Zoom AI, GMP, LexisNexis Bridger etc.) for potential privacy risks, including geolocation tracking, data matching and profiling. Provided detailed gap-risk-mitigation writeups for internal and external systems, offering actionable privacy control recommendations and tracking them through remediation plans. Led stakeholder interviews and intake sessions to uncover undocumented data processing activities and ensure complete and truthful PIA submissions. Review and validated vendor security questionnaires to assess data protection adequacy, encryption standards, and cloud storage practices. Maintained up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and incorporate emerging compliance requirements into risk assessment frameworks and remediation strategies.
