ABOUT RANY IBRAHIM
With over 20 years of experience spanning economic development, public policy, and international engagement, I am a strategic executive focused on driving innovation, building high-impact partnerships, and delivering sustainable growth. Most recently, I served as Director of Economic Development & Trade with the Government of Nova Scotia, where I led complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across industry, government, and international partners, managed multimillion-dollar funding programs, and advanced strategic priorities in international trade, investment attraction, workforce development, bioeconomey and renewable resources. Throughout my career, I have advised Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and senior executives, and contributed to the development of major province-wide strategies, including immigration, workforce, and international commerce initiatives. My work has consistently focused on aligning policy with execution, unlocking opportunities for businesses and communities, and driving measurable economic and social outcomes. In addition to my executive leadership experience, I bring a strong academic and advisory lens as a long-time lecturer at Dalhousie University, where I teach strategy, international business, and leadership. This combination of practical and academic experience allows me to translate complex challenges into actionable, results-driven solutions.I am particularly passionate about: • Leading organizations through transformation and growth• Building cross-sector partnerships that unlock innovation• Advancing inclusive economic development and global competitiveness• Strengthening governance, strategy, and organizational performance
