I have been in the solid wood processing industry for over 40 years. Specialized in the joinery machinery and tooling sector, I run a few related companies delivering robust, high-performance European woodworking tools, supplies, and accessories to the millwork and offsite construction industries throughout North America. Alpine Technical Workshops, Rangate, Soukup America, and CutterShare, with the same goals in mind: To enable high-performance wood products manufacturing in North America using industry-proven standards. We have developed the WeComplete program that ties the wood window and door industries together from manufacturing knowledge to the factory layout, and from end-product design to joinery equipment. Among the recent Passive House Institute window component certifications, one is designed and approved by PHI to be shareable among wood window producers. With subcomponents and processing tools predefined yet being flexible, manufacturers have options to fast-track their high-performance product offerings. Our team has also recently operationalized a set of timber framing equipment at a Passive House prefab company. Offsite construction is a proven cleaner and higher quality option to the building industry.
