ABOUT RANDAL GREENE

Randal provides spatial decision support through Feaver\'s Lane, a consultancy that applies geographic information systems (GIS) technologies to help balance ecological, social and economic perspectives. Clients have included Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, NL Forest Industry Association, Qalipu First Nation, numerous municipalities and planners, NatureServe Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Nature Conservancy of Canada, World Wildlife Fund, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Conservation Biology Institute, Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement, Nunatsiavut Government, and Canadian Forest Service. Randal\'s first time through university, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce, concentrating in Information Systems and Management Science. After starting in business database applications, he moved to ICAN, a company with software products for marine navigation and surveillance, and held management positions involving internal IT, customer technical support, product software engineering and project management. The geographic nature of ICAN’s products sparked an interest in analytical GIS, and he then completed a MSc in Geography, concentrating on multiple-criteria decision analysis for land management. This led to positions with Nature Conservancy of Canada as a conservation analyst and GIS modeler, with Memorial University as a cartography lecturer, with the Too Big To Ignore project as a web-based crowd sourcing and mapping project manager, and ultimately to his consulting practice.
