ABOUT RALF COLBUS

As Chief Storage Strategist for IBM Systems, I advice, design and build secure and cost-effective data storage solutions for customers and business partners in the DACH region. I help them to shape their future IT infrastrucutre or transform their datacenter.Trust is key when working with data. One of the most enjoyable things about my work is building a high level of trust with customers. I do that by finding the right approach to managing, protecting and futureproofing the safety of their data in a cost-effective way. That sounds simple; it’s not but I thrive on solving complex problems and work closely with IBM’s technical and business development teams to make sure we are at the forefront of innovation in data storage. Whilst finding the right solutions for customers is satisfying, I am equally enthusiastic about helping customers understand the potential power of data in supporting strategic decisions which will give them a competitive advantage. It can be surprisingly creative process and I draw on over 20 years of experience working in data storage across several industries.I am proud to be a member of the WW CTO storage team and core member of IBM Systems Europe. I’m also a regular speaker at conferences and events where I love to talk about the latest developments in data storage and our visions for the next storage waves!Outside the world of data, I\'m a music lover, enjoy a good wine and a game of golf; and am involved in climate change activity.
