ABOUT RAJAT GHOSE

Rajat Ghose is a Delhi based Filmmaker. He was born in Calcutta and went to school in St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling. As a student he developed a deep interest in films and influenced by Satyajit Ray and Werner Herzog, decided to step directly into the world filmmaking. After completing his graduation from St. Xavier’s Calcutta, he began working as an assistant director. He assisted award winning documentary filmmakers and ad filmmakers in Mumbai. He scripted short films. One of them, THE STRANGER, was directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury (Director of PINK). In 1998, Rajat moved to Delhi and became Associate Producer on popular TV Shows, namely Star Plus’s INDIA BUSINESS WEEK and BBC World’s REAL INDIA TRAVEL SHOW. During this time he also scripted and directed an Episode on STAR Best SELLERS titled RAAZ. In 2002, he wrote and directed a short titled THE TENANT. The film played on the UK Website UrbanChillers and was one of the first digital features to have been produced in India. In 2013 he Directed the documentary FACING THE SUN, which was a contemplative examination of the lives of North East women working in Delhi. Currently Rajat works in Delhi as a prolific Corporate and Documentary filmmaker. He has made more than a hundred corporate films. He works with Companies such as IKEA, Tata Global Beverages, Maruti Suzuki and many others. Rajat has been writing Screenplays and with his more than two decades of experience in filmmaking, is setting out to devoting full time into feature and documentary projects of his choice.
