ABOUT RAHUL TANGSALI

Currently a masters student in computer science at USC set to graduate in May 2025, my journey in technology has been shaped by my enthusiasm for software development and an emerging focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) research. Throughout my academic journey, I have been dedicated to building innovative software solutions using technologies like React, Next.js, Node.js, SwiftUI, and Go. My experience includes developing dynamic applications with real-time notifications, secure authentication, instant messaging, and server-side rendering. I take pride in writing clean, maintainable code and have worked on features like drag-and-drop interfaces and scalable backend systems. I enjoy solving real-world problems, whether it\'s by designing RESTful APIs, implementing GraphQL endpoints, or creating serverless functions. In addition to software development, I am exploring NLP research, contributing to studies on sentiment analysis, abstractive summarization, and machine translation for low-resource languages. Using transformer models like BERT, T5, and PEGASUS, I’ve tackled challenges like data augmentation through back-translation and GPT-based generation. My research has been featured at workshops like DMLR at ICML and DravidianLangTech at ACL. This work motivates me to advance language technologies that can benefit underrepresented communities and improve accessibility for diverse users. I am actively seeking full-time opportunities starting May 2025 in the domains of software development and ML. I am thrilled at the prospect of demonstrating my capabilities by working with esteemed companies.
