ABOUT RACHEL ALLAN

I am currently a Senior Hydraulic Modeller within the Water team at Jacobs, with over 8 years’ experience working within the water industry. I have an extensive experience working for a variety of clients including Water and Sewerage Companies, Local Authorities, Energy Companies and Developers. My expertise lies in the construction of 1D, 2D and linked 1D-2D urban drainage network models using the InfoWorks ICM modelling package; mainly as part of feasibility, flood risk assessment and drainage area studies. I also have experience carrying out rapid drainage assessment studies using MicroDrainage. In addition to drainage modelling, I have an excellent working knowledge of GIS packages such as MapInfo, ArcGIS and QGIS.My specific areas of technical expertise include: hydraulic modelling (wastewater and surface water), model build, 2D overland flow modelling, drainage area studies, flood risk assessment, feasibility studies, survey procurement and management (flow, manhole and CCTV), GIS, data analysis and visualisation, ground models and LiDAR, SuDS.Software: Hydraulic Modelling: InfoWorks ICM, MicroDrainage, STORMPAC, Flood Modeller, TuFLOWGIS: MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGISAsset Management: InfoNet/InfoAsset ManagerOther: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI
