ABOUT RACHEL SCHWARTZ
Hi! I am a recent UC Berkeley honors graduate with double Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film and Media and Psychology. I have always considered myself a storyteller, and I now endeavor to use my passion for storytelling to augment the voices of both myself and others. I am particularly fascinated by the articulation of audiovisual narratives in post production, and I have over 9 years of experience editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and other industry standard software. I currently work as a post production intern at the internationally-acclaimed documentary house Interloper Films, where I use strong attention to detail and time management skills to provide support in timeline assembly, mixing, and digitization. I also support executive workflows and provide administrative assistance through event and schedule coordination. While at both UC Berkeley and Cinematic Arts and Production Studios, I was fortunate to work on set for over 15 short films, receiving numerous accolades and official selection at the student LA Film Awards. I have worked as a writer, director, producer, and makeup artist, honing skills in both leadership and collaboration. I have been hired as a freelance editor for both narrative short film and commercial work. At Brooklyn Cafe TV Studios and their corollary AMP Media Productions, I ran board and coordinated studio equipment set-up for live television news and worked freelance on promotional videos for various clients. At Giannetti Films, I was on set for the production of a feature film, television show, and short series. In addition to filmmaking, I am passionate about psychological research, and am comfortable with data analysis and statistical research methods. I am likewise interested in creative prose writing and film theory. I have participated in a diverse range of interests and roles, and I have a fundamental love of learning, creating, and collaboration.
