As a Government Affairs & Policy Intern at GE HealthCare, I support federal advocacy efforts to advance equitable access to medical technologies and shape a policy landscape that centers patients, supports clinicians, and promotes innovation. My work blends legislative research, strategic communication, and real-time policy engagement across a range of healthcare priorities.Key Contributions:Conduct research and author internal briefs on healthcare tariffs and their impact on provider costs, device pricing, and U.S. trade competitiveness; Support GE HealthCare’s Political Action Committee (PAC) by developing employee-facing communications that frame federal policy priorities in terms of patient care, innovation, and bipartisan cooperation; Attend and report on Congressional hearings, roundtables, and industry coalition meetings focused on AI in healthcare, cybersecurity, and FDA reform, contributing to internal strategy memos and engagement plans; Collaborate on legislative advocacy around breast cancer care, supporting efforts to pass bills expanding insurance coverage for secondary screenings, including stakeholder outreach, policy framing, and direct engagement with Congressional offices; Participate in coalition meetings and strategic planning discussions on how to navigate a polarized political environment, offering creative action steps to protect access and regulatory stability during election cycles; Draft issue summaries and talking points to make complex legislation digestible and actionable for both healthcare providers and patient communities, aligning GE’s technology with access and equity goals.
