ABOUT RACHEL GREENWOOD
I have recently joined VINCI as a Construction Manager, working as part of a team to help deliver a new public services hub and relocated bus terminal in Ellesmere Port Town Centre. The bus Station has now been relocated to Civic Way, with the work including some highway alterations. Prior to VINCI, I\'d not long returned from a years maternity leave with my first child, where I joined the bidding/tendering team as an Operational input. Prior to this, I was a Site Manager leading the construction of a £4 million new build Adult Learning Day Care Center including external works for Flintshire Council, and before this, I was a Site Manager overseeing as part of a team, the construction of a £12 million new build secondary high school in Connah\'s Quay, Deeside. An interesting project in Liverpool before moving to North Wales was a role as Site Manager responsible for a section of works within a live factory environment with the Jaguar Land Rover Plant. I was part of a team, delivering a new factory extension, and internal refurbishment to accommodate a new production line, housing a new model of vehicle. Responsible for the day to day running of site, managing of sub contractors, keeping to programme, budget and ensuring safety is that of top priority! This was my fourth project as a Kier employee. For the five years spent at Balfour Beatty, I was a setting out and quality engineer on a major PFI hospital project, SEN School, new build, and refurbishment project on an Academy in Runcorn. Upon leaving Balfour Beatty, I joined GB Building solutions, spending two years as a Site Manager on a £5.1 million Care Home for Care UK. This consisted of the demolition of an existing office block within a grade II listed wall, making way for a high spec, private, 80 bed care home. In tandem, I completed a HNC part time University course, completed my BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management Degree, completed my NVQ Level 3, NVQ 4 Level 6, hold a black CSCS card, SMSTS qualified and am a fully recognised Member of the CIOB. Even though I have a number of responsibilities placed upon myself, I never allow this to get ahead of me, but rather channel it as positive recognition of my competence and trust issued to me by my employer.
