WORK HISTORY
Process Engineer @Multimatic
Newmarket, ON, CA
Damper Diagnostics & Root-Cause Analysis: Performed systematic teardowns and diagnostics on RPSD, BPSD, and Normal positions of Multimatic\'s DSSV (position-sensitive) dampers, isolating failures in the valve stacks and internal components and developing corrective solutions. End-of-Line Vision Inspection: Improved end-of-line pass rate by 11% on the Keyence vision inspection system by reducing measurement variance through parameter tuning and tooling chnages, enabling more parts to reach the customer without sacrificing quality thresholds. Operator Reduction: Developed and implemented a process redesign targeting the elimination of one operator position from an assembly line; project nearing confirmation with an estimated labour cost saving of ~$1.5M over the 8-year program life. Hardware Build & Validation: Built and validated production damper assemblies to specification using quality measurement tools; recorded and assessed breakaway torque, residual torque, and press forces to verify components met tolerance and performance requirements. Custom Tooling & Process Improvement: Designed and fabricated custom tooling to improve assembly ergonomics and reduce cycle time, applying systematic problem-solving to hardware constraints. Work Instructions & Cycle Time Studies: Authored standardized work instructions across multiple assembly lines and conducted cycle time studies to identify bottlenecks and support continuous improvement.

ABOUT QUIN HUTTON
I\'m an Automotive Engineering co-op student at McMaster, currently working as a Process Engineer at Multimatic where I do damper diagnostics, end-of-line process improvement, and assembly tooling design.Outside of work I lead vehicle dynamics for MAC Formula Electric building Simulink models (bicycle, quarter-car, pitch, roll, brake), working with Pacejka tire data, and trying to make our car handle better on track.I\'m interested in vehicle dynamics simulation and driving simulator engineering specifically where the modelling side meets real hardware. If that overlaps with what you\'re working on, feel free to reach out.
