Safety in the workplace shouldn’t be a topic that a company’s team members dread and avoid. Unfortunately, safety training and expectations of compliance with safety protocols are often delivered in ways that are hard to absorb or embrace.I believe workplace safety should be approached as part of the daily work culture. It should be communicated, practiced, and expected at the same level as all other business strategies. In my 5 years in EHS, I’ve done my best to inspire and fortify an environment where safety is embraced and valued. Whether it’s simply leading through consistency and follow-through or developing training programs that are engaging and aid retention, I make connecting people and safety a top priority.Understanding the unique safety needs of the work environment then creating an implementation plan that instills a sense of personal responsibility within a team is what I do best. It’s not hard for people to see I’m genuinely invested in keeping them informed and safe. For me, safety isn’t a job it’s a passion!
