I began my journey with Diageo on August 21, 2023, bringing over 12 years of experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing. Transitioning to the distilling process was a new and exciting challenge for me. Leveraging my background in constraints modeling, I conducted site constraints analysis to understand the capacities of various processes. This led to the development of a model to simulate non-CAPEX and CAPEX volume improvement opportunities. I applied this model to Glendullan, Auchroisk, and Inchgower distilleries, refining it with expert technical knowledge.I introduced the constraints model as a tool to identify new volume improvement opportunities in Malt Distilling. Following leadership\'s direction, I rolled out the analysis to CAP sites, completing evaluations for Talisker and Lagavulin distilleries and identifying non-CAPEX improvement opportunities.I devised a broad plan to implement this concept across all distilleries, revealing potential savings of £4.22 million. Additionally, I developed a constraints analysis model for Maltings and conducted an analysis for Burghead Maltings.One of my significant achievements was introducing PPLA and PPT diagnostic tools for distilleries and maltings, which helped identify loss and waste. Through three rounds of analysis, we uncovered £2.88 million in improvement opportunities. In Malting, the PPT diagnosis revealed new loss categories, such as malt weight loss and productivity loss due to poor quality malts, identifying £4.6 million worth of opportunities.Currently, I am working on the SIC/RCPS implementation for the Speyside East group site, where we are making excellent progress. I am also collaborating with global engineering to build capacity models for Maltings and distilleries to support future expansions and investments.I am proud of the new tools we introduced—Constraints Analysis, PPLA, and PPT diagnostic tools—within a limited timeframe.
