In 2021, Walk to End Alzheimer’s was again recognized as the #2 peer-to-peer fundraising event in the country. This past year, Walk was only $10 million behind the leader, and we are closing the gap and continuing to grow. Walk to End Alzheimer’s was one of only 8 programs that grew participant numbers in 2021 and one of the 18 programs that saw revenue growth. And importantly, Walk showed the largest dollar increase of any program by growing by just over $20 million to $87.5 million.Walk to End Alzheimer’s has been featured on this list since the list’s inception, and our rank has improved consistently. In 2006, Walk to End Alzheimer’s ranked #14; in 2012, Walk ranked #12; in 2015, Walk ranked #7 and in 2017, Walk ranked #3, and then we moved to the #2 spot in 2020.This achievement is only possible because of our dedicated volunteers, team captains, Walkers, sponsors, donors, and staff. Our success in Walk to End Alzheimer’s fuels care and support for those impacted by Alzheimer’s and all other dementia in all communities. It also fuels groundbreaking research aimed at prevention, treatment, and ultimately a cure and fuels advocacy efforts that drive legislation and funding at both the federal and state level.
