I am a disputes lawyer who assists clients to avoid and solve problems. I work with private and government clients in the early stages of disputes to provide strategic and pragmatic advice and find solutions. I have almost 20 years\' experience in helping clients understand and manage risk and navigate complex disputes and crises. I specialise in commercial and contractual disputes and have expertise in restructuring/insolvency, having acted for financiers, insolvency practitioners and other stakeholders in insolvency-related matters. I advise and act for regulators and regulated entities in regulatory investigations and disputes. In the public/government law area, I am the lead disputes lawyer in HWLE’s Victorian government team and have also worked with a number of Commonwealth government departments and agencies.I have been recognised by my peers with listings in Best Lawyers in Australia for 2019 and 2020 in the areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Insolvency/Reorganisation.My recent experience includes:• Acting for the ultimate shareholder of Australia\'s largest dairy farming operation in an M&A dispute relating to the $280 million sale of the operation.• Acting for a large bank in ASIC investigations which culminated in the commencement of proceedings.• Acting for a client in relation to an AFP investigation into allegations of foreign bribery.• Acting for a listed financial services provider about civil litigation arising from regulatory issues.• Acting for a professional services regulator in a disciplinary investigation and proceedings. • Acting for a professional services partnership in a claim against a former partner in relation to a $17m claim for breach of fiduciary duties.• Acting for a private equity fund in a dispute with other shareholders relating to an investment in a company which involves allegations of breaches of warranties, misleading or deceptive conduct and oppressive conduct.• Acting for a global engineering services company in a multi-party proceeding in the Supreme Court of Victoria seeking $18m in relation to the allegedly deficient specification of pipes to be used in a hospital.• Acting for a food manufacturer in relation to a dispute with a packaging supplier in relation to a $20m per annum supply contract.• Acting for the Commonwealth of Australia in a make good claim relating to the Commonwealth\'s occupation of premises.• Advising the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services in relation to various aspects of its management of public housing properties.
