ABOUT PIERGIUSEPPE AGOSTONI

I am full professor of cardiology at the University of Milan, and previously I served as associate professor of Critical and Respiratory Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA. Since 2018, I have directed the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at the University of Milan. I am also coordinator of the Department of Critical and Rehabilitation Cardiology, head of the Heart Failure, Clinical Cardiology and Rehabilitation Operating Unit at the Centro Cardiologico Monzino, IRCCS, Milan, Italy. Here I also direct the Cardiorespiratory Pathophysiology Laboratory dedicated to the clinical evaluation of patients with heart failure and to conducting research protocols in this area. I have authored several publications international journals with impact factor. I am an active member of Editorial Boards of numerous scientific journals in the cardiopulmonary field. Since 2005, I have been president of CPX-International, a scientific society involved in the training of physicians and scientists involved in the study of cardiorespiratory pathophysiology during exercise (cardiopulmonary exercise test-CPET). I am an internationally recognized expert in the field of heart failure and cardiovascular research, for which I won numerous awards.
