ABOUT PETER ZOFREA

As an Assurance partner in EY’s Orange County office, I bring almost three decades of experienceserving public and private companies in the real estate industry. I add value for my clientsthrough auditing, SEC reporting and compliance, project and financial analysis, internal control reviews, accounting consultations, and capital and debt transactions. As co-leader of the National Homebuilding practice at EY, I’m responsible for organizingour annual homebuilding CFO/Tax Director roundtable; coordinating the firm’s annual Homebuilding CFO survey and driving analysis and dialogue around current economic, business, accounting and tax trends that affect the homebuilding practice and optimize our work. During my tenure, I’ve assisted leading real estate companies with formation/reorganization transactions including IPOs, acquisitions and dispositions/liquidations. EY has the largest integrated real estate, hospitality & construction practice of any accounting organization, with approximately professionals around the globe providing assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services to real estate owners, investors, lenders and users, REITs, developers and homebuilders. We lead the big four firms in the percentage of the real estate, hospitality and construction market audited for the companies on the Forbes Global list. We serve more than real estate, hospitality and construction clients throughout the world.When I’m not working, I enjoy long-distance cycling. In summer 2016, I’ll be participating in Race Across America, the transcontinental bicycle race from the west to east coast of the USA to raise funds for the EY College MAP program. Through EY College MAP, we help demystify the process of applying to and affording college—encouraging students who might not have considered applying to do so. We want to remove obstacles for students to apply for college, and help them succeed once they get there.
