Markos Design Workshop, RIBA Chartered Architects helps clients maximize rental income with sustainable tiny home designs.The practice is also nationally recognised for its expertise in advanced timber architecture and thoughtful, environmentally conscious designs delivered locally and internationally.We cherish direct, 1:1, tailored relationships with our clients. Clear communication is pivotal to our project approach, ensuring keen responsiveness to site and context and adherence to timelines and budgets that best fit our client\'s needs. We integrate sustainable modern methods of construction (MMC) and design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA)- as a means to save time and money for our clients guaranteeing a higher level of precision. We believe that good design should be accessible to everyone. A key aspect of being a proficient architect is effectively working within the available materials and budgetary limitations. MDW adopts a unique, multidisciplinary approach to architecture rooted in our carpentry background. This gives us an understanding of the integration of materials and structures, enhancing our ability to determine \'what will work\' from a financial and construction perspective. Our proficiency in this domain makes us a favoured choice among clients, engineering firms, and contractors.Our firm has secured over 20 grants in recent years and can assist clients in receiving project funding. Moreover, we have expertise as architect developers and own a portfolio of commercial properties, stocks, and shares. This equips us with a solid understanding of project costs and commercial limitations.

ABOUT PETER MARKOS
At 16, I was named UK Young Innovator of the Year—and I haven’t stopped since.Today, I run Markos Design Workshop (MDW), a RIBA Chartered Architecture Practice helping clients maximise rental income and long-term value through eco-conscious homes and distinctive luxury holiday lets. Our work bridges high-performance design with real-world returns—whether through bespoke rental cabins, strategic planning gains, or full architectural delivery.Alongside MDW, I lead a serviced accommodation business focused on high-yield, design-led holiday homes. This dual perspective—designer and developer—means I bring a uniquely grounded, commercially-aware lens to every project. Clients often tell us that this synergy gives them confidence: we design what we ourselves invest in.Before turning 30, I’ve secured:Worked with some clients on amazing projects Two Innovate UK grants for property in backing from Airbnb to develop a flagship holiday unit, andAngel investment to expand our property portfolio.Since I was 13 I have consecutively outperformed the global stock market - I have a good sense of how to manage my own and my clients money. This journey has shaped my belief that architecture should do more than look good—it should perform financially, socially, and environmentally.
