By this stage of our careers, many of us have had interesting journey\'s to get to where we are. I spent almost 30 years in the international coal industry, and now at Evolve Power we are solving an end of mine-life reality for the Tent Mountain Mine in Alberta by turning it into one Canada\'s largest energy storage projects. Reliable electricity supply is essential for a modern economy. Through the energy transition we face two major challenges: aligning supply with demand consistently when new supply is inherently intermittent, and ensuring the stability of the grid itself by maintaining inertia.Energy storage provides solutions for both of these challenges, and has an important and growing role to play in the Alberta electricity system. At Evolve we are delivering solutions by creating low-cost, long-duration energy storage at our Tent Mountain Pumped Hydro Energy Storage project. As a complement to TM-PHES, Evolve is also developing short duration battery energy storage systems (BESS) aimed at improving grid stability while reducing delivered power costs.I\'m rising to the challenges we all face as we transition to a lower carbon intensity world, and I\'m really pleased in the progress Evolve Power is making.
