ABOUT PEPPER NATONSKI

I serve as Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs, Philanthropy, and Sustainability at Duke Energy, where my work is focused on delivering reliable power, keeping customer costs as low as possible, and building the infrastructure needed to support economic growth for more than 8 million customers. My work sits at the intersection of policy, partnerships, and purpose. I partner closely with policymakers, community leaders, and stakeholders to strengthen communities, create long‑term customer value, and support strong outcomes for shareholders. With more than $100 billion invested in U.S. energy infrastructure over the past decade—and nearly $200 billion more planned—relationships, trust, and thoughtful collaboration are essential to delivering results. Over nearly a decade at Duke Energy, I’ve helped advance key federal policy outcomes, from tax reform to infrastructure investment, and have held leadership roles across federal affairs, national stakeholder strategy, and sustainability. Each role has reinforced the importance of trust, clarity, and execution. Before joining Duke Energy, I spent more than 10 years on Capitol Hill, most recently as Chief of Staff to Congressman Richard Hudson of North Carolina, where I helped lead bipartisan legislation that became law. During that time, I was honored to be named one of National Journal’s “25 Most Influential Women Under 35 in Washington.” I’m passionate about developing the next generation of leaders and serve on the board of Running Start, a nonpartisan organization that equips young women to run for public office. Outside of work, you’ll often find me supporting youth sports, serving in PTA leadership, or on the pool deck as an official with the Northern Virginia Swim League.
