ABOUT PAUL BATE
I am an experienced transport planner with 30 years of experience in this field. I have extensive experience in almost all areas of transport ranging from strategy and policy development to transport modelling, economics, scheme appraisal and evaluation, for major new transport infrastructure schemes including major road, rail and public transport schemes. In my current role my skills are being utilised to provide technical direction into bids and projects, provide leadership to transport strategy, appraisal and evaluation experts and enabling the delivery of high quality and high impact projects for public and private sector clients.I have many years of experience of both being a client and provider of professional services. My experience from both sides of the fence provides a valuable insight which has supported my career to date. For example I have successfully led and played major roles in the production of commercial tenders as well bids for public sector funding, including major frameworks, projects and latterly collaborative research & development projects from Innovate UK. I have extensive project and programme management experience having managed major transport projects and capital programmes for previous employers or consultancy clients.
