ABOUT PAUL WRIGHT
Paul Wright joined SLR from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) in early September 2018. Paul joined from a role as NRW Industry Regulation Team Leader for North and Mid Wales since 2012, building on earlier roles with NRW (and predecessors) as Agriculture team leader and Pollution Prevention and Control Officer. This regulatory experience gives him unrivalled insight into the requirements of environmental permitting and compliance and in particular knowledge of how the approach to engagement and improvement can influence the nature and timing of Regulator actions. This knowledge is complemented by a detailed understanding of industrial business operations gained through several years supervising new build and operational management of sites.Since joining SLR Paul has provided permitting and compliance solutions to a variety of end users, including landfill, energy from waste, waste transfer stations, anaerobic digestion, processing, metals recovery, food and drink manufacturing and bespoke end of life plastic re-use. Paul has delivered training courses to members of the Food and Drink Federation on Environmental Law, webinars to members of the Chemicals Industries Association on the Industrial Emissions Directive and members of the Food and Drink Federation on the updated BRef for the Food, Drink and Milk industries.
