WORK HISTORY
Interim Head of External Affairs and Research @YoungMinds
London, GB
I lead multiple teams to raise awareness of young people’s mental health, drive policy change, and enable the delivery of fundraising goals. My role spans policy and public affairs, campaigns, data and insights, media, and the recruitment and retention of celebrity ambassadors. I also act as a media spokesperson. With the voices of young people at the heart of our work, we continue to grow our parliamentary presence through 1-1 meetings, roundtables, and through a network of MP ‘champions’. By bringing together the voices of young people, case studies from our Parents Helpline, and rigorous data analysis we are a go-to source for ministers, civil servants, and journalists. In addition to our own projects and initiatives, we also work regularly in coalition to maximise the sector’s collective impact. The media and celebrity teams are central to supporting delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy. As a team, we regularly work closely with major corporate partners, as well as trusts and foundations, to deliver agreed media coverage targets and to ensure our brand is continually safeguarded. As part of the wider leadership team I was part of developing a new 5-year strategy for YoungMinds, and with my data and insights team I have led the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess and review its impact.

A confident decision-maker with a collaborative leadership style, I am proud to have led high-performing and inclusive teams, who I encourage to try new ideas and break down silos within organisations.
