ABOUT PHILIP ALLSOPP

In addition to my responsibilities for leading and overseeing ORBIS Dynamics\' analytic, simulation and visualization services, I am a Trustee of Britain\'s Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the RIBA\'s Council representative for the Americas Region, and am Co-Chair of the RIBA\'s Expert Advisory group on AI, Generative Design and Data. I am also an Adjunct professor with Mohawk College\'s School of Climate Action in Hamilton, Ontario and a Senior Scientist with Arizona State University’s Global Futures Laboratory. My work and research has been and remains focused on improving the DNA of human habitats to address ballooning ecological, social, and economic crises arising from urban growth and accelerating climate change.What is clear from my work is this: The Places We Build Shape the People We BecomeEvery one of us lives inside a story written by the places we inhabit. Our homes, streets, schools, parks, and neighborhoods quietly shape how we sleep, how we learn, how we age, how we connect with one another, and how healthy we become. They influence our stress levels, our sense of safety, our economic opportunities, and even how long we live.For generations, we’ve been taught to think of the built environment as background scenery — a real estate commodity, something fixed, something technical, something other people make decisions about. But the truth is far more powerful:Human habitat (our built environment) is one of the most important public health, economic, and social determinants of our time. And it is something we can change - together.Orbis Dynamics works at the intersection of human habitat, public health, environmental neuroscience, and economics to help communities imagine — and build — places that allow people to thrive. While we employ advanced analytic and simulation digital technologies to shine a light on future opportunities and identify risks before stumbling into them, our single aim is to help people from all walks of life figure out which actions taken now and over time will enable the future to be that better place they dream of.
