ABOUT PAUL BENNETT

I act as external General Counsel for law firms (City, US, Regional) and have advised law firms from sole practitioners to international firms. Nationally known for giving legal advice to other lawyers and law firms I routinely advise on employment law, regulatory enforcement investigations, disciplinary proceedings, AML, PII insurance and partnership issues. Others have described me as \"a lawyers lawyer\"​ and I usually tackle matters which are career-defining for my clients (firms or individuals). Most of my work is sensitive and of huge personal significance to my clients. I regularly act in high profile matters which require sensitive handling. I have started, run, and sold a successful law firm and have built employment and professional practice areas of work across multiple firms. I have written three books for law firms (all on regulation), write for the legal press (on regulation and management) and debunk law in the mainstream media with simple to understand articles. Before the law, I had a career in commerce and In 1994/5 I undertook a management course. Since then I have used that early-career training to develop business skills and management skills. I am one of a few solicitors to be dual qualified as a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute. Many of the problems I solve for clients rely as much on management knowledge as legal skills.
