GIVING LONDON\'S TREES A SECOND LIFE We discovered most old trees felled in London are simply chipped and burned as firewood. With the UK importing 90% of the hardwood it uses, we realised the city was wasting a valuable resource. Working with tree surgeons, councils and developers we take felled tree butts and turn them into quality hardwood for use by furniture makers, designers and the communities they came from. My role is to help build the company which was founded in 2018. This involves working across a wide range of business areas including: strategy planning, finance, funding, systems development, marketing, and customer and supplier relationship management. It also involves learning about - and being a part of - the world\'s efforts to reach net zero carbon by 2050, and the circular economy.
