ABOUT PATRICK NATAF

Patrick NATAF est chirurgien cardiaque, Professeur d’Université depuis 2005 et chef du service de chirurgie cardiaque de l\'hôpital Bichat depuis 2006. Il est actuellement vice-président de l’Innovation pédagogique à Université Paris Cité et co-dirige les Diplômes Universitaires de Santé Connectée et Metaverse en Santé à UPC. Il est co-directeur de l’équipe Biomatériaux et technologies immersives à l’INSERM /LVTS. Il est également co-chairman de la Chaire UNESCO d’enseignement de l’anatomie numérique et directeur médical international du conseil scientifique du Quartier d’Innovation Santé de Montréal. Il est titulaire d’un Executive Master en « Gestion et Politique de Santé » à SciencePo Paris et de « Management Général Hospitalier » à l’ESSEC business School Paris. Patrick NATAF is a cardiac surgeon, Professor at the University of Paris Cité (PU-PH) since 2005 and head of the cardiac surgery department at Bichat hospital since 2006. From 2015 to 2019, he was Head of the heart-vessels center of the Bichat hospital bringing together cardiology, neurology, diabetology and cardiac surgery services. He is currently Vice-President of Educational Innovation at Paris-Cité University. He is Scientific Manager of the ANR “Lynx” Labcom: Augmented Reality in Surgery (INSERM Consortium, Paris Cité University, Lynx®). He is International Medical Director of the scientific council of the Health Innovation District (QIS) of Montreal. He graduated from Sciences Po Paris in “Health Management and Policy” and graduated from ESSEC Business school in “General Hospital Management”. He was awarded the Legion of Honor in 2010.He served as president and co-founder of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery and of the Working group on cardiovascular surgery of the European Society of Cardiology. Since 2014, he has co-directed the Connected Health Theme in team 3 of Inserm Unit U1148 and the Connected Health Responsibility Center at Bichat hospital. He currently co-leads the “Biomaterials and Immersive Technologies” team within INSERM Unit 1148 LVTS and is responsible for teaching using immersive technologies in the Illumens simulation center at Paris-Cité University. He has coordinated the University Diplomas in Connected Health since 2018 and Metaverse in Health at the University of Paris Cité since 2023. He is also co-chairman of the UNESCO Chair in teaching and research in digital anatomy and Director for innovation and technologies for the educational project of the Grand Paris Surgical Campus at the AP-HP Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris
