ABOUT PATRICK CLARK

I thrive in collaborative, creative, and compassionate environments. My work in diverse industries, from the performing arts to education to marketing to events is highlighted by one common thread. I have elevated the organization and advanced its mission and goals, be those revenue, awareness, engagement or culture. Succinctly-I succeed. I have often been challenged with the comment,\"Well, we are looking for someone with experience in this arena.\" Every single time I have been given an opportunity to prove myself in an arena where I had no \"experience,\" I have excelled and advanced, be it through promotion, increased responsibility or formal recognition. I had just started to make my way in the theatre community in Maryland when I won the role in a one-man show about John Wilkes Booth.I had no prior experience with that level of responsibility. The show was commissioned for performance at multiple venues. I had no experience in finance (I HATE math!) and yet, after signing on as a temp at a Fortune 500 company as a financial analyst, I was soon hired on full-time and within a month was an Employee of the Month. I had no experience in education, but when getting my foot in the door through getting a part-time job as a middle school soccer coach, I leveraged my communications background to drive the creation of a new role (Director of Communications), from where I advanced to manage the re-branding for the prestigious private school, create a state-recognized speech curriculum, and serve as the Head Coach of the varsity boys\' soccer team. I had never served as a speech coach for competitions, but looking back on my accomplishments (and those of my students), and in five attempts, I have coached five state champions in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest, as well as the runner-up in my last year. I coached the winner of the Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest in my region, and a runner-up. I had no experience leading a theatre program, but once I was given the opportunity, I created a magnet program for another independent school and led them to multiple invitations to perform at the state conference, multiple winners of individual events and multiple former students thriving in the industry. I believe in the \"other duties as assigned\" clause and work to serve to the best of my ability.and it has worked!
