ABOUT PANAGIOTIS PAMPAKAS

Hi there! I ‘m Panos. I recently graduated from VU Amsterdam with an MSc in (Financial) Econometrics. I have background in Economics/Econometrics and Mathematics. During my studies I have done several projects in the areas of portfolio construction, time-series analysis (ARIMA, GARCH, Stochastic Volatility), quantitative risk management (copulas models, VaR, expected shortfall) and high-frequency trading (kernel density estimation, RGAS, RGARCH). My favourite area of quantitative finance is derivatives pricing where I can work very well with stochastic differential equations, binomial trees and finite differences to value derivative products. Most of my work have been done using Python but I can work with R as well. Additionally, I have strong background in finance where I can build financial models in Excel for valuations, linking the three primary financial statements i.e. Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statement. For the year 2025 I plan to give the examinations for CFA level 2 in May and FRM level 2 in November. On personal level, I’m passionate about self-improvement and personal growth.
