ABOUT PAMELA MARINAKIS
I am a self-motivated, goal-oriented, and passionate student majoring in Marketing at The Kelley School of Business. I also plan to pursue a complementary minor in Advertising. Throughout my years in high school, I was actively involved in various clubs and organizations which helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, all of which I think will be crucial in my career. Some of the organizations I was involved in are the National Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society and as well as various service organizations. Marketing, with a focus on selling, is an area that I would like to continue to explore as I continue my journey at The Kelley School of Business. I am very energetic and I am often told by others that I have an innate ability to draw people in. During high school, I worked as a sales consultant at a prominent retail store that specializes in evening gowns and prom dresses. My main responsibility was to assist customers to find the right dress and secure the sale in the end. During my time of employment, I got numerous positive customer reviews complementing me on my patience, friendly personality, and level of expertise. My time as a consultant specialist made me highly attuned to my customer’s needs and helped me further develop my listening and soft people skills.Beginning my journey at Indiana University, I have joined the Sales Club within the KelleySchool of Business, as well as Ad Club @ IU. Also, I have become an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, where I am involved in various charity and philanthropic events. I have also joined the Hellenic Student Association, as well as The Hellenic Dance Troupe at IU where I routinely connect with other Greek American students on campus through various cultural and social events. In the future, I hope to expand my involvement at Indiana University, by joining various business organizations within The Kelley School of Business and hopefully one day secure a leadership position. I hope to be fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to also take a global immersion business course where I will be given a unique opportunity to study a country in depth and then participate in an accompanying study tour abroad. I believe that throughout the next several years at Indiana University, I will continue to grow professionally, gain confidence, and further expand my skill-set, which will be essential in my career development.
