ABOUT PAMELA MCCOURT FRANCESCONE
I was born in Dublin and educated in Ireland, Holland, Switzerland, London and then at Trinity College Dublin. I worked in RTE Irish Television as an aspiring director, then moved to Rome working with the Daily American and International Courier daily newspapers, moving on to TTG Italia, Italy\'s leading travel trade paper, and I am now with the Travel Quotidiano Media Group. I speak fluent Italian, good French and am fast picking up Argentine Spanish. I have been a PR and Press Agent for Italian and international travel companies including Malaysian Airlines. I write, in Italian and English, for leading international magazines and trade publications: Travel Weekly, Luxury Travel Advisor, Emotions Magazine, Resorts and Travel Quotidiano among others. In October 2021 I took over as Executive Editor of ItaliAbsolutely, Travel Quotidiano\'s English-language B2B digital portal. In 2010 I founded Link for Aid to help disadvantaged children in Myanmar and Cambodia and from 2013 to 2019 I organised Music for Myanmar with Sule Shangri-La Hotel and Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon, bringing professional European musicians to Yangon for very successful annual fund-raising charity concerts.I have visited countries for work and leisure, leaving my heart in many, and in particular in Myanmar where I have returned over 30 times. My travel philosophy reflects that of my fellow citizen Oscar Wilde who, famously, said:\"To expect the unexpected shows a thoroughly modern intellect.\"
