Paloma Lazaro Trujillo is a global mining and engineering leader with more than 15 years of experience spanning Peru, France, and the United States. She currently serves in Fleet Management at Caterpillar Inc, Job Site Solutions (JSS), based in Tucson, Arizona, where she partners with mining operations to solve complex operational challenges and drive productivity, safety, and sustainable performance through data‑driven fleet solutions—reflecting a shared purpose of building a better, more sustainable world. Central to Paloma’s leadership philosophy is the belief that meaningful solutions require more than technology alone; they require trust, empathy, and a deep understanding of the people who operate and maintain mining fleets every day. By connecting data with dialogue, she helps organizations move from reactive problem‑solving to proactive, purpose‑driven performance. She holds a PhD in Mining and Geological Engineering from the University of Arizona, a master’s degree in industrial risk and environmental management from the University of Poitiers in France, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. A passionate advocate for inclusive leadership, Paloma leads the Women in Mining Ambassador Program, creating site‑level initiatives that strengthen engagement, belonging, and retention across the industry. She also serves as Correspondent Secretary for Women in Mining Arizona, supporting chapter communications, member engagement, and statewide collaboration. In this role, she contributes to strategic initiatives that amplify women’s voices, promote professional development, and strengthen the mining community across Arizona and beyond. Guided by a commitment to purpose‑driven leadership, Paloma is deeply dedicated to empowering women and shaping a resilient future for mining.
