ABOUT OWEN DAVIES

Specialised in the analysis of complex geotechnical problems. Strong proven track record of leading in the development, implementation and delivery of an appropriate analysis strategy.PhD research involved the numerical modelling of the impacts of climate change on infrastructure slopes. Modelling comprised coupled modelling of slopes with partially saturated flow (FLAC tp flow) and partially coupling the model boundary with a hydrogeological model capable of simulating the atmospheric boundary including evapotranspiration, root water uptake and overland flow.Extensive consultancy experience in geotechnical analysis, design and impact assessments for a variety of structures and earthworks including sprayed concrete, segmentally lined (cast iron and precast concrete) and historic brick lined tunnels, piled rafts, retaining walls, basements, shallow foundations. Capable of conducting and management of analyses using a variety of techniques including empirical estimation, elastic theory, boundary element and numerical modelling techniques.(2D and 3D; FE and FD).
