ABOUT OREN KRAUS
I\'m currently a director of machine learning at Recursion\'s office in Toronto focused on advancing machine learning for tech-enabled drug discovery. Previously I lead the machine learning team at ProteinQure, an innovative protein design startup in Toronto. Prior to ProteinQure, I co-founded Phenomic AI based on my PhD research in Brendan Frey\'s PSI group at the University of Toronto. There, I was one of the first researchers to publish the application of deep convolutional networks (CNNs) to large scale microscopy image analysis. At Phenomic, I secured the company’s seed investment and strategic partnerships and led development of Phenomic’s deep learning based platform for analyzing biomedical images. Prior to Phenomic, I interned at Apple Inc in the Bay Area and Borealis AI in Toronto. I received my BASc and MASc in mechanical engineering at the University of Toronto.
