ABOUT OLIVER GAUSMANN

I spent 20 years building and running B2B software companies. Founded one, sold it to S&P Global. Ran operations for 300 people across seven countries at a PE-backed firm. After four acquisitions at a Fortune 500, I managed 200+ engineers and a €50M+ budget. The common thread across all of that: technology without governance and clear leadership creates more problems than it solves. Through Convios, I advise CEOs and managing directors on AI strategy, regulatory compliance (NIS2, EU AI Act, DORA), and software delivery. The companies I work with are typically mid-market, with 50 to 500 people, technology-driven, and at a point where AI has moved from experimentation to a leadership decision. I help them build the structure and organizational readiness to make that decision well. For longer engagements, I take on interim CEO and COO mandates in investor-backed software companies. PE-backed, VC-backed, or family office funded, in the DACH region. Growth phases, transitions, and post-merger situations.I also teach Global Software Management & AI at the University of Zurich. I\'m a licensed pilot. Aviation taught me that the quality of your decisions under pressure depends entirely on what you did before the pressure arrived. I apply that principle to every mandate.
