ABOUT OLA MAZZUCA
Say Hola to Ola! I launched my career over 15 years ago as a multimedia journalist deep within the moshpits of Toronto\'s Metal community. Since then, my sonic roots have expanded tenfold, weaving across Canada and around the world, approaching my work within the arts focused on limitless opportunities for innovative creativity. As a public relations, marketing and communications professional, I understand the power of images and words, and know that meaningful communication is an impetus for engagement and connection to cultivate strong communities and build relationships. I have been in the fast-paced and dynamic music industry for over seven years as a Senior Publicist, working with numerous acts from around the world that create social change through their sounds.Many of the projects I have worked on have won multiple JUNO Awards and the coveted Polaris Music Prize. I have extensive experience working with youth and diverse communities, marked by a pivotal role at McMichael Canadian Art Collection, where I spearheaded an award-winning project and authored the ancillary publication that documented this process. Subsequently, I held roles in their Events, Development and Donor Relations departments, organizing major growth initiatives and fundraisers, while coordinating marketing and administration. I swiftly adapt to changes and am proficient in managing relationships with clients, partners, producers and media outlets with what I firmly believe to be important, the three Cs: collaboration, connection and community to deliver all projects on time, with purpose and zeal. I build projects from the ground up and have developed many personal ventures. I have been able to enjoy creative expression and ongoing learning in a variety of roles both professionally and personally. My latest endeavour: I am the Founder, Host and Producer of Sonic Fold, a two-fold consultation platform and its subsidiary, The Fold Podcast; a series centred around championing people and organizations cultivating community and connection in unique and diverse ways.
