ABOUT NAN LIU
Nan is an experienced Electrical Engineer with over 8 years of post-graduate experience spanning across engineering consultancy, distribution network operator (DNO) and academic research. Nan specialises in power system modelling and analysis. He has extensive experience in performing design and grid connection studies for HV/EHV network. His project experience in Arup involves power system modelling and compliance studies, grid connection studies and HVDC scheme protection and control.Prior to joining Arup Nan has participated in various projects on both UK transmission and distribution networks. He has published eight peer-reviewed technical papers in the area of power system reliability and renewable generations. His experience spans across various areas including power quality study, transient study, fault analysis and reliability assessment. He also has experience working as a project coordinator to establish joint research activities between EU and Chinese institutes. Nan has substantial knowledge and experience in a number of electrical software packages including DigSilent Power Factory, Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD, RTDS Simulator, ERACS and SKM.
